FIve Angry Black Girls

my very first short film, it makes me so emotional to talk about. i’m so proud of this but i’m also so optimistic. ‘five angry black girls’ marks so many firsts for me, i was a freshman in high school when i made it. it was my first time directing, acting, or writing anything on screen. as an artist, i was thrusting myself into a whole new realm of vulnerability. it felt like going from the kiddie pool to eight feet. the transition was assisted as much as possible by the team at bgfc but ultimately they gave me a level of creative room that made the experience entirely what I chose. i jumped head first, as always, and i learned so so much. i could talk about what this story meant to me endlessly, thank you so much everyone who made it happen.
